HMD Hyper

Alleged HMD Hyper render shows off colour options, launch could be imminent | Tech Tips

HMD-branded phones are slowly making noise in the tech space. The brand recently launched the Crest and Crest Max phones in India and is believed to be working on a bunch of other models as well. One such model in the works is the HMD Hyper and now renders of the device have surfaced online, showing off the different colour options.

New HMD phone ‘Hyper’ spotted online

  • The HMD Hyper has a design reminiscent of the HMD Skyline, which in itself looked inspired by the Nokia Lumia phones.
  • The phone features sharp corners on all four sides and curved edges to the side so it is comfortable to hold in hands.
  • The render shared by an X user, HMD_MEME’S shows the phone in yellow, red, teal and grey colour options.

  • We see a square camera module on the top-left corner to house the triple-camera sensors and an LED flash. There is ’50MP OIS Camera’ text engraved within the layout.
  • The earlier leaked image showed the phone will have a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter and a significant black bezel running around the screen.
  • The HMD Hyper appears to have a boxy chassis, with the volume and power button present on the right edge.
  • The handset will reportedly feature a metal frame and glass back, which means the HMD Hyper will arrive as a premium mid-tier model.

HMD Hyper: what do we know so far?

The X user along with sharing the render has also leaked the HMD Hyper specifications. According to the post on X, the phone would come with a 6.55-inch FHD+ OLED display and a 120Hz refresh rate. The handset could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset paired with Adreno 710 GPU for graphics. There could be 8GB RAM and 256GB native storage and this should be expandable via a microSD card.

The triple camera layout on the back could include a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 13MP telephoto and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. We might see a 50MP shooter on the front for selfies and video chats. The HMD Hyper might house a 4,700mAh battery with 33W fast charging. The handset could be equipped with an IP54 rating, dual speakers, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, and Wi-Fi 5.
