WhatsApp will soon let you share ‘Status Updates’ directly on Instagram, Facebook | Tech Tips
WhatsApp will soon let its users share their ‘Status Updates’ as Stories on Instagram and Facebook directly. While the ability to share WhatsApp Status Updates as Stories on Instagram and Facebook has been available for sometime now, the feature requires users to share individual posts separately on each platform. But this will change when Meta rolls out Account Centre support for WhatsApp.
WhatsApp getting Account Centre support
- Meta first introduced Account Centre back in 2020. However, at the time, Meta’s centralised control centre was available for Facebook and Instagram only.
- Now, almost four years later, the company is planning to bring Account Centre support to WhatsApp. With Account Centre integration, users will be able to reshare updates from their WhatsApp Statuses to Facebook and Instagram Stories directly.
- In addition to this, WhatsApp users will be able to log into their WhatsApp accounts with a ‘single sign-on’ and control some account settings such as birthday and ability add or remove accounts centrally.
- Meta, in its detailed blog, wrote that in time it will introduce support for more features such as ability to manage avatars, Meta AI stickers and users’ Imagine Me creations within the Account Centre.
- The company also said that adding WhatsApp to Account Centre is optional and that the feature will be turned off by default.
- Furthermore, Meta said that despite the Account Centre integration, WhatsApp will continue to offer end-to-end encryption for calls and messages on its platform.
WhatsApp Account Centre Support availability
As far as availability is concerned, Meta has started rolling out Account Centre Support to WhatsApp globally. It will be available to all WhatsApp users within a few weeks.
When available, users will be able to access Account Centre in WhatsApp by going to Account Centre in WhatsApp Settings.
