Airtel revises Rs 509 and Rs 1,999 prepaid plans benefits; data no longer available | Tech Tips
Bharti Airtel has revised the benefits of its value packs: Rs 509 and Rs 1,999 in India. These plans no longer offer data benefits and only come with voice and SMS options. This change comes after TRAI mandated telecom operators to offer special voice and SMS-only tariffs aimed at those who just want calling benefits. Besides Airtel, Jio is also reportedly revising its value packs.
Airtel Rs 509 and Rs 1,999 plans revised
The new Rs 509 and Rs 1,999 revised benefits are reflected on the Airtel website for consumers to recharge.
Airtel Rs 509 plan
- The Airtel Rs 509 originally offered 6GB data, 100 SMS each day and unlimited voice calls to any network. It has a validity of 84 days.
- After revision, the Rs 509 plan now doesn’t come with any data benefits and just offers unlimited voice calls and 900 SMSes. The validity remains unchanged.
- Additional rewards include the Airtel Xstream app, Apollo 24/7 Circle membership, and free Hello Tunes.
- For those who need data benefits, currently, there’s the Rs 489 pack which offers 77 days of validity, unlimited calls, 600 SMSes and 6GB of high-speed data.
Airtel Rs 1,999 plan
- Similarly, the Rs 1,999 plan previously offered 24GB of high-speed data, unlimited voice calls and SMS benefits.
- Post the revision, the plan now only offers 3,600 SMSes and voice calling options to subscribers and no data benefits. The validity is now 365 days.
- Additionally, the plan offers access to Airtel XStream, Apollo 24/7 Circle membership, free caller tunes, and Airtel spam detection.
- Currently, there are no similar plans with data benefits listed on the Airtel website. It remains to be seen whether Airtel will introduce a new pack to compensate for the revision to the Rs 1,999 pack.
