Reliance Jio value plans’ benefits may be revised soon: should you recharge now? | Tech Tips
Last month, TRAI mandated the introduction of voice and SMS-only packs without bundling data, a beneficial move for price-conscious consumers. As per the new directive, the telecom sector is gearing up for a new round of changes in tariffs. Now, Reliance Jio seems to be working on revising its value packs that are the most affordable plans from the telecom operator. The information has been brought by tipster Abhishek Yadav who found the changes in the source code.
Jio to revise its value plans soon
- Currently, Reliance Jio offers three plans under its value offering priced at Rs 189, Rs 479, and Rs 1,899. These offer different validity and benefits.
- As per the details shared by tipster and going by the code, the Rs 479 plan will no longer come with 6GB total data.
- It will only offer unlimited voice calling and 1,000 SMS for 84 days.
- While the plan will continue to be available, the telecom operator will reportedly introduce a new Rs 539 plan with an additional benefit of 6GB total data compared to the Rs 479 plan.

- There will also be a new Rs 1,999 plan valid for 365 days with unlimited voice calling and 3,600 SMS.
- Meanwhile, the price of the current Rs 1,899 plan is expected to be hiked to Rs 2,249.
- It will continue to offer the same benefits as the current plan i.e. 336 days validity, 24GB total data, unlimited calling, and SMS limited to 3,600.
The new plans and reported changes are yet to reflect on Jio’s official website and could happen anytime soon. If you’re a Jio prepaid user, it makes sense to perform a recharge before the revisions come in to effect. In other news, not long ago, the telecom operator hiked the price of its base postpaid plan of Rs 199. Existing users will be migrated to Rs 299 but new subscribers will have to shell out Rs 349.
