iQOO 14 Pro tipped to be in the works, may feature Samsung screen | Tech Tips

iQOO 13 is the brand’s current only flagship phone with Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. This time around there was no Pro model like the predecessor i.e. the iQOO 12/12 Pro. However, if a new leak on Weibo is anything to go by, the company might be working on a new iQOO 14 Pro, possibly for later this year. Here’s everything we know.

iQOO 14 Pro could be in the development

• Going into details, tipster Smart Pikachu on Weibo posted that Vivo and iQOO are planning to launch more smartphones with Samsung screens.

• One of the comments from the same post asks what’s the difference between the iQOO 14 and 14 Pro. To which, the tipster says the Pro variant could get a periscope lens.
• This means the standard iQOO 14 may not get support for the periscope lens.
• Another Weibo tipster ‘Experience More’ claims that there will be more straight-screen flagships in 2025, including iQOO 14 Pro and OnePus 14.

• While no major hardware details of the phone are leaked, the mention of iQOO 14 Pro in two different instances suggests that the phone could be in the works and it might debut later this year with a newer generation Snapdragon chipset.

It is reported that iQOO 14 and 14 Pro may use Samsung-supplied screens. The South Korean giant is expected to supply a range of OLED panels in different sizes to smartphone manufacturers in 2025. These could include a 1.5K OLED LTPO flat display, 1.5K and 2K LTPO micro-quad-curved panels and more.

For context, the iQOO 13 and iQOO 12 series have used OLED panels supplied by noted China manufacturers like BOE and Visonox. The inclusion of Samsung screens will be a major shift. Not much else is known about the iQOO 14 series at the moment.

Though the iQOO 12 series included the Pro variant in China, only the vanilla model debuted in India at Rs 52,999 and not the costlier Pro version. We should know if the brand will continue the same tradition or if there will be any change in plans closer to the announcement.
