Infinix Smart 8 HD launched in India way back in December 2023. Over a year later, it now looks like the company is ready with the successor, the Infinix Smart 9 HD. 91mobiles exclusively learned the India launch date of the phone, courtesy of industry sources. Additionally, we also bring you the first look and more details like its colours and durability. Here’s everything about the new Infinix smartphone.

Infinix Smart 9 HD India launch

Sources tell us the Infinix Smart 9 HD will launch in India on January 17th i.e. next week. We can expect the brand to start teasing the phone on social media in the next few days.

• The renders show the phone will have a square-ish module on the top-left corner of the back panel and this houses dual camera sensors.
• We also see an oval-shaped cutout within the module for LED flash. There’s ‘Crystal Clear F=1.8 camera’ text engraved.
• The volume rocker and power button can be seen on the right edge.
• The Infinix Smart 9 HD is expected to be available in Metallic Black, Mint Green, Coral Gold, and Neo Titanium colours.
• As per sources, the Infinix Smart 9 HD will have a multilayer glass back with flat edges and a colour-matched frame. 
• As for durability, sources tell us the phone would arrive as the most durable phone in the segment, with flagship-level durability tests conducted like six side drop tests from 1.5 meters distance and 2,50,000+ drop tests, possibly under Infinix lab conditions.

That’s pretty much everything about the phone at the moment but we expect to learn more details in the days to come. For context, the Infinix Smart 8 HD ships with a 6.6-inch HD+ 90Hz display, Unisoc T606 SoC, and a 5000mAh battery. The phone is currently available at Rs 6,699. We expect the successor to cost around the same, if not a little higher considering the design improvements.
