CES 2025: HP unveils EliteBook notebooks, Z series desktops, and more | Tech Tips
While HP made a splash with the new Omen Max 16 laptops and gaming peripherals at CES, it also launched notebooks and PCs catering to professionals and businesses. The HP Elite series is protected end to end by Wolf security. Here’s a detailed look at the products launched at CES.
HP EliteBook Ultra G1i 14-inch notebook
This new HP notebook is powered by Intel’s Core Ultra series 2 processor, which has an onboard NPU with a processing power of up to 48 TOPS. In addition, it comes with up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, 2TB of SSD, and a 2.8K OLED display.
For conferences and meetings, HP has put a special 9MP IR camera with an 88-degree field of view and privacy shutter, dual microphones and quad speakers. This laptop also has the world’s largest haptic trackpad, according to HP.
In terms of availability, the HP EliteBook Ultra G1i will be available later this month for a starting price of $2,019 (approx. Rs 1,75,000).
HP Elitebook X series
The HP Elitebook X series comes in two models: The Elitebook X G1i and the Elitebook X Flip G1i. Both of the laptops come with a 14-inch form factor and HP Endpoint Security Controller (ESC) which is a dedicated hardware chip built into HP business-class PCs.
Both the laptops come with a 5MP IR camera with automatic framing and are portable at 1.39 kilograms. In terms of performance, both of them are equipped with the Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors, with up to 32 GB of LPDR5X RAM and 2TB of SSD storage. The displays run at a resolution of 2.5K and have WLED+ technology.
In terms of connectivity, both laptops are limited to WiFi 6E with 5G modems, unlike the Elitebook Ultra which supports WiFi 7.
In terms of pricing and availability, both the HP EliteBook X G1i and HP Elitebook X Flip G1i are expected to be available in February. Here are the prices:
HP EliteBook X G1i: $1,999 (approx. Rs 1,72,000)
HP Elitebook X Flip G1i: $2249 (approx. Rs 1,94,000)
HP Z series mini PC and ZBook Ultra
Apart from these, HP also announced the next generation mini PC, dubbed the Z2 mini G1a. In this tiny chassis, sits a Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395 processor, that comes with Radeon 8060S graphics. Apart from that, the Z2 mini G1a comes with up to 128GB of RAM, 8TB of SSD and a Phase Change cooling system. This workstation can support up to 4 displays at 4K resolution and comes with a plethora of ports and connectivity options, including WiFi 7.
The HP ZBook Ultra G1a also boasts the same Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395 processor with up to 128GB of RAM and up to 4TB of SSD. The NPU runs at 50TOPS on both the desktop and the laptop, giving a leg up in AI workloads.
What’s also new is that you can assign up to 96GB of RAM to the GPU, thanks to its unified memory architecture. This will boost the gaming performance by miles on this laptop.
Both the Z2 mini G1a and ZBook Ultra G1a are slated to release later in spring. Pricing will be revealed later.
HP Z Captis
Apart from laptops and desktops, HP also announced a new device named the Z Captis, in collaboration with Adobe. It is a digital material capture device capable of capturing materials at resolutions of up to 8K. At its core is the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier module, which drives the cameras and enhances AI-powered features.
This advanced module enables real-time noise reduction, HDR processing, and precise colour and pixel calibration. Additionally, the Jetson AGX Xavier powers the Captis’s ability to perform real-time inferencing within the photometric imaging volume, ensuring unparalleled performance and accuracy.
HP has developed the Captis to support the initial phase of a three-step process designed to empower its partners to “capture, create, and experience.” This workflow integrates Captis devices, Z Workstations, and Jet Fusion 3D printers, delivering a seamless ecosystem for advanced material and product innovation.
Peripherals
HP also has launched two docks namely the HP Thunderbolt 4 100W dock and the Thunderbolt Ultra G6 docks, along with new Poly Voyager Legend headsets and The HP 720/725 Multi-Device Rechargeable Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo. Lastly, HP rounded up its set of launches with the HP 400 Quiet Wireless mouse.
