Redmi is launching today its budget-oriented smartphone called the Redmi 14C 5G in India. The phone comes as a successor to the Redmi 13C 5G that launched in December 2023. Notably, the 14C 5G is different from the 14C 4G variant that is already available globally. From leaks and rumours, we know the phone’s underlying processor, design, display other key specs, and even the supposed pricing for the Indian market. Redmi 14C India launch live stream: how to watch

• Redmi 14C 5G’s India launch will be live-streamed via Xiaomi India’s YouTube channel on January 6th at 12 noon. This happens to be the phone’s global debut as well.

• The phone will be available via Amazon and Flipkart. The company has been teasing the device’s key specs via these e-commerce microsites and its social channels.

Redmi 14C price in India (expected)

• Redmi 14C 5G is tipped to start at Rs 13,999 for the 4GB+128GB model. However, as part of introductory offers, the phone could be available for Rs 10,999 or Rs 11,999. Let’s see.
• Meanwhile, the Redmi 13C 5G had landed in India at Rs 10,999 for the starting variant with 4GB+128GB memory configuration. It is also available in 6GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB variants.

Redmi 14C specifications (expected)

• The phone supports dual 5G SIM support with up to 2.5Gbps speed. It is dubbed the 2025G phone for its 5G prowess.
• It has got a 6.88-inch 120Hz HD+ display on the front. The panel is TuV Rheinland certified for eye protection (for blue light, flicker and circadian rhythm).
• Under the hood, the 14C 5G has a 4nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor with a 4,50,000+ AnTuTu score. The Redmi 14R 5G also has this chipset. The chip has two Cortex A78 performance cores with 2.2 GHz clock speed and six Cortex-A55 running at 2.0 GHz frequency. This is a more powerful chip than the Mediatek Helio G81 Ultra inside the Redmi 14C 4G and Mediatek Dimensity 6100+ inside the Redmi 13C 5G.
• The internals also include a 5,160mAh battery with 18W charging support. The bundled charger supports up to 33W speed.
• Although the rear camera island has 4 cutouts, there are two cameras only. The leader is a 50MP AI camera.
• Design-wise, the round camera panel aside, the phone has IP52 dust and water resistance and a headphone jack. The company has revealed the phone will be out in Stargaze Black, Stardust Purple and Starlight Blue colours.
