Lava is stacking up offerings in India, a very value-oriented market. It has just launched the Lava Yuva 2 5G phone in the country as a successor to the Lava Yuva 5G that came out in September. • Lava Yuva 2 5G launch price is Rs 9,499 for the solo 4GB+128GB model.
• The phone is touted to have a “premium marble finish” in two colours: Black and White. Previously, we have seen marble finishes in phones like the OnePlus 11 and Huawei P60 Pro.

Lava Yuva 2 5G: what’s new

• The marble finish is new to the Yuva phone design language. Even the lustrous flatter sides offer a decent contrast to the rest of the design.
• The rear camera setup may be similar but the camera island’s design is distinct.
• Compared to the regular Yuva 5G, the newcomer has a bigger display.
• While the predecessor was available in a lower 64GB model also, the new device is out in a solo 128GB model only.
• The underlying chip has also been upgraded to the Unisoc T760 from Unisoc T750 inside the former.

• Display: On the front, there is a 6.67-inch HD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate, 700 nits brightness and a central punch-hole cutout.
• Processor: At the heart of the phone, there is a Unisoc T760 chipset with four Cortex-A76 performance cores clocked at 2200 MHz and four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores running at 2000 MHz. The T750 SoC could hit only 2GHz max frequency. So, this new processor is more powerful.
• Memory: You get 4GB RAM (with 4GB expandable virtual memory), and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage.
• Cameras: On the back of the phone, there is a 50MP+2MP AI camera setup and on the front, there is an 8MP selfie taker.
• Battery: A 5,000mAh cell keeps the clock ticking, backed by 18W fast charging.
• Software: Lava underlines the phone has clean Android 14. 
• Others: The rest of the repertoire consists of a dual stereo speaker setup, a side-mounted fingerprint reader and a face-unlocking option.
