Vivo Y29 5G specifications, design spotted on Google Play Console; Geekbench listing spotted as well | Tech Tips

Vivo Y29 5G is expected to launch in India soon as a successor to the Vivo Y28 5G, which came out in January 2024. Although through a couple of recent posts, we have learned about the phone’s India pricing, design, colours, and specifications, its appearance on Google Play Console and Geekbench listing reveals more details. Let’s learn them below:

Vivo Y29 5G Google Play Console listing

91mobiles has come across the Google Play Console listing of Vivo Y29 5G. The Vivo phone with model number V2420 has the following specs:

• Memory: You get 8GB RAM on this listed model. From a recent report, we learned the phone could come in 4+128GB, 6+128GB, 8+128GB and 8+256GB options.
• Software: The tested model has Android 14. In India, the phone could ship with Funtouch OS.
• Processor: Under the hood, the phone could be carrying MediaTek MT6835, which is the codename for Dimensity 6300 SoC. The chipset consists of 2 Cortex A76 performance cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and 6x Cortex A55 efficiency cores running at 2 GHz. There is an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 with 900 MHz for graphics and gaming. This chip is faster and more efficient than the Dimensity 6020 within the Vivo Y28 5G.
• Display: On the front, there is an HD+ panel with a 1608×720 pixels resolution and 300 PPI. The predecessor also has a HD+ screen. 

Vivo Y29 5G Geekbench scores

The V2420’s scores spotted by MySmartPrice appear to be lower than what Dimensity 6300-powered Realme C65 5G is capable of. But, we reserve our judgment till we test the device ourselves.

As for the rest of the listing, we gather the following information: 8GB RAM, Android 14 and the aforementioned Dimensity 6300 clock speeds. 

Beyond this, from earlier reports, we know the phone could sport a 6.68-inch panel, a 50MP+ 0.08MP QVGA secondary camera setup on the back, a 5,500mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging support, and IP64 dust and water resistance. It will come in Glacier Blue, Titanium Gold and Diamond Black colours. 

Design-wise, it seems to have a boxy build with rounded corners and flat sides. The front has a centered punch-hole cutout while the back has a domino-shaped camera island with a ring LED flash below the camera lenses. It is expected to weigh 198 grams and be 8.1 mm thick.
