In a bid to simplify travel-related needs for Indian train travellers, Indian Railways will reportedly soon bring a new application, called “IRCTC Super App” for its users. As per reports, it is a digital platform aims to bring together various railway services, such as booking tickets, cargo bookings, ordering food, and more, all in one place. IRCTC Super App features, availability

• As per a report, the IRCTC Super App will merge various railway services that are now handled by different apps.
• Passengers will have the option to book both reserved and unreserved tickets, buy platform tickets, track seats and trains live, and access food and more.
• Reportedly, the IRCTC Super App will eliminate the need for apps like IRCTC Rail Connect, UTS, and Rail Madad.
• Other media reports say the app will not only allow ticket bookings but also provide a variety of travel and tourism services.
• With the Super IRCTC Super App, interested users will be able to purchase holiday packages, IRCTC tour packages, hotels and more.
• The IRCTC Super App was initially announced in September this year. However, it is expected to rollout this month for iOS and Android users for free.

It is worth mentioning that IRCTC will continue to manage reserved ticket bookings, maintaining its role in railway ticketing. This new app integrates multiple functionalities that were previously available on separate platforms, offering passengers a smoother experience.

The integration with CRIS is expected to improve service across all features. Additionally, the app reportedly gives IRCTC the opportunity to increase its revenue by combining these services into one platform.
