- With this update, users will find a visual “…” cue at the bottom of the screen when someone starts typing in a group or one-on-one chat, along with their profile picture.
- Notably, this would complement the existing typing indicator that appears in the top banner.
- This feature makes it easier for users to identify who is typing in the conversation and is now available for iOS and Android users.
- It is worth noting that this feature was initially announced for select beta testers in October.
On the other hand, the messaging platform recently announced the voice message transcription feature that converts audio messages into text by processing the audio locally on the user’s device after the message is downloaded.
This feature allows users to read the content of voice messages, making it useful when listening to audio is not possible. Initially, it will support a limited set of languages, with plans to expand language support in the coming months.
