Nothing phones get the iconic Snake game widget: here’s how to play | Tech Tips

Nothing has launched a new widget that lets you play the iconic Snake game on your device. The new Nothing widget has been launched in India and can be downloaded right away. Nothing’s ‘Snake Game Widget’ was made in collaboration with two community members, Rahul Janardhanan and Thomas Legendre. The former has created widget concepts earlier and the latter is a developer known for projects like Ear (web) and the Simone Glyph Game.

Here’s how you can download it and play the game. 

How to get the Nothing Snake Game Widget

The Nothing Snake Game Widget is available to download from the Play Store. You’ll have to download the Nothing Community Widgets app to get this particular widget. Once it’s downloaded, you can add the widget to your home screen. In case, the widget isn’t available you can try updating the Nothing Launcher. And for those on the Nothing OS 3 beta version, you might have to reboot the phone to get the widget.

Here’s how you can play the game:

• Swipe to play: You’ll have to swipe in different directions for the snake to move and collect food. 
• Dynamic challenges: As your score increases, the snake speed will also go up.
• Integrated features: You can pause the game with a double tap to see your high score. 

The Nothing Snake Widget is available in India so all Nothing users can start using it. While it’s a fun widget, there’s only one size (2×2) option. This makes the widget box very small and slightly difficult to play. Nothing might introduce more sizing options in the future. 

Do note that this widget isn’t part of Nothing OS 3.0 so you don’t need the update to download and play the game. Speaking of which, Nothing OS 3.0 second open beta update was recently rolled out for the Phone (2a). The stable update is confirmed to be released this month.
