  • The user complained of hearing a man’s voice coming from the phone’s earpiece speaker suddenly, even when there was no application running on the device.

Glitches raise privacy concerns among iPhone users

While Apple has yet to acknowledge the issue officially, some users suggest that the issue could be linked to bugs in iOS 18. It is worth noting that these incidents have raised concerns among iPhone users, with many users questioning its cause and potential privacy risks.

This isn’t the first time, as several users have complained of phantom sounds from their devices in the past. In January of last year, a user wrote on Apple Discussions that he experienced a random “Duhdum” noise while using iMessage and Apple Music. Meanwhile, several users in the reply section stated they also have experienced similar issues.

Notably, Apple recently released iOS 18.2 Beta 3 and iOS 18.1, but neither mentions a fix for these issues. However, it is expected that affected users may receive a solution in the public release of iOS 18.2, which is expected to be released on December 9th.
