OnePlus 13 software update introduces macro mode before its global debut | Tech Tips

The OnePlus 13 debuted in China last month. It is yet to make its way to the global markets. Now, the brand is rolling out a new update for the smartphone in its home country. It introduces a new camera feature that the device lacked at launch. This will enhance the smartphone photography experience. OnePlus shared the announcement on Chinese microblogging platform Weibo. 

OnePlus 13 gets a new update that brings a camera feature

• OnePlus is rolling out a software update that introduces macro mode to the OnePlus 13’s camera capabilities. 
• It lets you capture super close-up shots for all the tiny details. 
• After installing the software update, the macro mode is accessible through a petal icon in the smartphone’s default camera app.
• The update is rolled out in a phased manner. Users can check for it by heading to Settings > System > Software Updates. 
• OnePlus has not explicitly revealed which lens is used for macro photographs. 
• The flagship smartphone sports Hasselblad-branded triple rear camera. The setup comprises of a 50MP Sony LYT-808 main sensor, a 50MP Sony LYT-600 periscope telephoto unit with 3x zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens. 

The OnePlus 13’s global launch timeline remains a mystery. Its predecessor, the OnePlus 12  debuted in China last December and made its way to the international markets a month later. It remains to be seen if the brand releases the latest flagship globally next month. The OnePlus 13 recently bagged BIS and TUV Rheinland certifications. The upcoming offering’s RAM and storage configurations as well as colour options for the global markets surfaced a few days ago. The smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and backed by a 6,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
