Samsung Galaxy S25 series tipped to use Snapdragon 8 Elite in all markets

Samsung Galaxy S25 series tipped to use Snapdragon 8 Elite in all markets | Tech Tips

Highlights
  • Samsung Galaxy S25 series might not feature an Exynos chipset.
  • It’s tipped that all models of the Galaxy S25 series will use Snapdragon and in every market.
  • Samsung usually keeps Snapdragon-powered models exclusive to certain markets.

Samsung’s flagship smartphones have been offered in two versions with Snapdragon and Exynos chipsets for a long time now. However, with the Galaxy S25 series, there have been conflicting reports and leaks about Samsung using only Snapdragon or continuing with Exynos and both. Now, another tipster has said that the Galaxy S25 series will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite and not Exynos for all versions.

Snapdragon 8 Elite for all Galaxy S25 versions

  • Samsung launches its flagships with Snapdragon and Exynos chipsets like it did with the Galaxy S24 series. The former although preferred over the latter, is available only in select markets.
  • It’s only the Galaxy S24 Ultra that was shipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in all markets.
  • According to tipster Ice Universe, Samsung will ship all versions of the Galaxy S25 series with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and not Exynos.
  • This means that the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra will use only the Snapdragon 8 Elite irrespective of the market.
  • If Samsung does go with this strategy then it might be received well as Snapdragon has been preferred over Exynos in terms of performance.

This isn’t the first rumour about Samsung adopting Snapdragon for its upcoming flagship phones. There have been reports before suggesting the same and even a wild rumour that we might see MediaTek chipsets on the Galaxy S25 flagship lineup. But it looks like Samsung might go with only the Snapdragon chipset.

This is however only speculation at this point and nothing is confirmed until the phones have launched. Speaking of which, Samsung might launch the Galaxy S25 series earlier this time according to a promotional online survey, which is supposed to be sent on January 5th. It’s speculated that this could be the launch date or it might be the pre-reservations date. For context, Samsung launched the Galaxy S24 series on January 17th so if it is indeed early, it might be during the first week of the month.
