Xiaomi 15 global version appears on Geekbench, Xiaomi 15 Ultra camera specs tipped again | Tech Tips

Xiaomi 15 series is the brand’s flagship phone lineup succeeding the Xiaomi 14 series.  While the regular Xiaomi 15 has already launched in China (along with the Pro model), its global edition is yet to launch but has just appeared on Geekbench’s AI test listing, showing the phone’s key specs and a rough indication of its performance. Additionally, the top-end model, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s camera specs have been tipped again with some new details. So, let’s check that out too.

First, the benchmark listing:

Xiaomi 15 Geekbench AI scoreboard

• The Xiaomi 15 with model number 24129PN74G was spotted (via) on Geekbench’s AI test result page. We see the Android AI framework TensorFlow Lite in the listing. Meanwhile, the Apple devices have the CoreML framework.
• There are multiple runs of this showing slightly varied results. The max scores are 2,519 in the single-precision test and 2,522 in the half-precision test. The quantized score is 4,254.

• While these scoring standards are a little nebulous, they indicate the device’s ability to run various AI tasks at various accuracy levels and speeds.
• Also worth noting is that the Xiaomi 15′s AI tests have been done on a CPU and not an NPU or GPU as it’s meant to.
• Nonetheless, the test shows key specs like the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, 16GB RAM and Android 15 with HyperOS 2.0 skin. One of the highlight features of HyperOS 2.0 is HyperConnect which enables single-click file sharing between select Xiaomi devices (like the Xiaomi 15 series) and Apple devices. This was exhibited by Xiaomi the other day. 

Xiaomi 15 Ultra camera specs tipped again

• Yes, as per DigitalChatStation (DCS), the Xiaomi 15 Ultra could sport a 50MP telephoto zoom sensor similar to its predecessor. However, it isn’t entirely the same thing.

• This 50MP Sony IMX858 telephoto sensor has an f/1.8 aperture, a 1/2.51-inch sensor size, and a 70mm focal length. In comparison, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s 50MP telephoto’s focal length is 75mm. The shorter focal length may offer a wider field of view but reduced zoom capability. According to DCS, this Xiaomi 15 Ultra telephoto camera provides 3x zoom, while the comparable sensor on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra supports 3.2x zoom.
• From a previous revelation by DCS, we know the Ultra model has a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.6 aperture and a 23mm focal length. Then, there is a 200MP sensor with 4.3x optical zoom, an f/2.6 aperture, and a 100mm focal length. This sensor’s output could be “slightly cropped” for a longer perceived focal length or zoomed-in appearance.
