Samsung Galaxy A06 5G reportedly in the works as the first 5G phone in the budget A0x series | Tech Tips
Samsung seems to be readying to launch its first 5G offering in the A0x series. This is an interesting development considering the lineup usually offers 4G models, which are placed in the budget segment with a price tag of around Rs 10,000. GizmoChina reports the phone in question is the Samsung Galaxy A06 5G and it could be launching soon.
The Samsung Galaxy A06 4G already debuted in India back in September and comes with the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset. Here’s what’s on offer with the Samsung Galaxy A06 5G.
Samsung Galaxy A06 5G could be in the works
- The Samsung Galaxy A06 5G could be the first 5G offering in the brand’s A0x series, as per the report.
- The 5G version of the phone has reportedly appeared in the GSMA database with the model numbers SM-A066B/DS and SM-A066M/DS.
- While no hardware specifications of the phone are revealed at the moment, the report suggests they might be similar to the 4G model, except for the chipset.
- Considering the steady rise of 5G phones even in the low-end segment, having a model in that range can be seen as a move in the right direction for Samsung.
- This will also help the South Korean giant better compete with other budget 5G offerings from brands like Realme, Xiaomi, and POCO.
The Samsung Galaxy A06 4G version was launched in India at Rs 9,999 for the base model with 4GB/64GB storage and Rs 11,499 for the 4GB/128GB version. We can expect the 5G version to be slightly more expensive. There are no details on when the Samsung Galaxy A06 5G will make its debut but we should come across more information in the days to come.
