WhatsApp starts rolling out chat themes and colours for beta users on Android | Tech Tips
WhatsApp rolled out chat themes for iPhone users earlier this week. It has now expanded chat themes to Android users but only for the beta version of the app. As the name suggests, WhatsApp users can set themes for different chats on the app. There are over 22 different WhatsApp chat themes and 20 colour options to choose from. With the beta version out already, WhatsApp is expected to roll out this update to all users soon.
WhatsApp chat themes for Android users
- WhatsApp has started rolling out chat themes to users on the beta version of the app, according to a report by WABetaInfo. It’s available with the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.21.34 update on the Google Play Store.
- Android users who are using the WhatsApp beta app can update to the latest version and check if they’ve received this feature.
- There are over 22 themes and 20 chat colours that can be applied to WhatsApp chats with the latest update.
- Once you choose a theme, the chat colours will also change accordingly to match it. However, you can also choose a different colour for the chat.
- WhatsApp also lets you set different themes for chats, personal or group.
- The new feature should be available in Settings > Chats > Themes. You should see the different chat themes and colours here if you’ve received the update.
WhatsApp currently offers little to no customisation on the app. You can set wallpapers for different chats and set the app theme to dark or light. The latest update lets you customise WhatsApp chats and it might be refreshing for users who have been wanting visual changes on the app.
As mentioned above, this feature has been rolled out only to the beta version of WhatsApp. So not everyone will have access to it yet. WhatsApp is expected to add support for chat themes and colours for all users soon.
