Samsung Galaxy A16 5G India launch has been officially confirmed. It’s the first mid-range A Series smartphone to launch with six generations of OS upgrades. The announcement was made shortly after the Galaxy A16 5G was listed officially in the Netherlands. Samsung has yet to announce the India launch date for the Galaxy A16 5G.
Samsung Galaxy A16 5G specifications
The official listing of the Galaxy A16 5G contains the specifications of the smartphone. It’s expected to come with the same hardware and features in India.
- Display: The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G has a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 1080 X 2340 pixels resolution, and a waterdrop notch.
- Processor: Samsung has officially confirmed the Galaxy A16 5G will be powered by a MediaTek chipset, which could be the Dimensity 6300. Globally, the phone could be launched with the Exynos 1330 chipset.
- RAM and storage: The smartphone has 4GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage that can be expanded via a microSD card.
- Cameras: The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G features a 50MP primary camera, a 5MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro lens at the back. It has a 13MP front camera for selfies.
- Colours: It will be available in three colours: Light Green, Light Grey, and Blue Black.
- Software: The Galaxy A16 5G will run Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1 custom skin out of the box. It will get six Android OS upgrades and security updates.
- Battery, charging: The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.
- Other features: The Galaxy A16 5G comes with dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, a USB Type-C port, and an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. It will also house a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Galaxy A16 5G will succeed the Galaxy A15 5G, which launched in India last December at a starting price of Rs 19,499. Samsung is expected to price the Galaxy A16 5G around the same in India. A 4G variant is rumoured as well but Samsung hasn’t mentioned it yet.
