Samsung Galaxy A56: what else we know

From the Geekbench screenshot, we learn it is running on Android 15-based One UI 7.0. The company is yet to announce this software update.

Coming back to the chip, it seems to have a prime core (Cortex-A720 at 2.91 GHz), three performance cores (again, Cortex-A720 at 2.60GHz) and four efficiency cores (Cortex-A520 at 1.95 GHz). Its predecessor the Exynos 1480, meanwhile has four Cortex A-78 performance cores clocked at 2.75 GHz and four Cortex-A55 running at 2.0 GHz.

The Geekbench records suggest the chip is using an Xclipse 540 GPU (codenamed Angle, which could be based on a newer RDNA 3 architecture.) and a more capable NPU (for AI tasks).

The tested model has 8GB of RAM. It could come in more options like the Galaxy A55. In India, this phone is available in 8/12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

We should be getting more details in the months leading up to the launch event. The Galaxy A55 5G arrived in India in March 2024.
