iQOO 12 gets Android 15-based Funtouch OS 15 update in India, device roadmap revealed | Tech Tips
The race for Android 15 begins as Vivo and iQOO become the first smartphone brands to roll out the latest update, even before the Google Pixel 9 series. iQOO has started rolling out Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15 for the iQOO 12 in India. By mid-October, all iQOO 12 users should get the update. It has also revealed the roadmap for the rest of the iQOO phones.

- iQOO 12 is the first smartphone to get Funtouch OS 15 in India, the brand officially announced in a release.

Funtouch OS 15 features

- Vivo, iQOO’s parent company, has replaced Android’s Fair Scheduling algorithm with its proprietary Priority Scheduling model. This ensures a 15 percent increase in average app startup speed. The latest update also ensures 40 percent faster memory compression.
- You can set your local videos as live wallpapers with Funtouch OS 15. You can also customise call backgrounds with the options available or set a photo.
- Funtouch OS 15 offers customisation for icon styles and designs, and you can hide app names as well. Fingerprint unlock and Always on display have also received new styles with the latest update.
- Vivo has also added an aqua dynamic effect for a more interactive user experience.
- Funtouch OS 15 also adds AI features like AI Photo Enhance and Super Documents for cleaner scanned documents. It also has this ‘Memories’ feature that turns your photos and videos into a movie with music and effects.
- There’s also a new Ultra Game Mode in Funtouch OS 15.

iQOO has revealed the Funtouch OS 15 roadmap for its smartphones. This is for the beta version of the update. iQOO says that the stable version will be pushed to all users over a period of time.
