Samsung Galaxy S25+ US variant spotted on Geekbench with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC | Tech Tips
Galaxy S25+ is expected to launch next year as part of Samsung’s flagship series. It will be the middle variant sitting between the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Ultra. There have been several leaks about the Galaxy S25+ already and now 91mobiles has spotted the smartphone on Geekbench. This listing reveals the chipset details and a little bit more about the Galaxy S25+.
Samsung Galaxy S25+ Geekbench listing
- Galaxy S25+ has appeared on Geekbench with the model number SM-S936U.
- The listing reveals the Galaxy S25+ is running a Qualcomm octa-core chipset with six cores clocked at 2.90GHz and two at 4.19GHz. It’s paired with the Adreno 830 GPU.
- The chipset’s architecture suggests it’s the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, which is launching next month.
- The result isn’t surprising as Samsung ships the US variants of its flagship phones with a Snapdragon chipset. However, there are reports that Samsung is planning to use only Snapdragon chipsets for the Galaxy S25 series.
The Galaxy S25+ scored 3054 single-core points and 9224 multi-core points on Geekbench. The unit here has 12GB of RAM, which will most likely be one of the variants. Interestingly, the Galaxy S25+ has scored more in the multi-core segment than the Galaxy S25 Ultra on Geekbench. The single-core points are also almost at par with the Ultra model, which scored 9080.
What we know about the Samsung Galaxy S25+ so far
- Leaked renders of the Galaxy S24+ showed a punch-hole camera, flat edges, and narrow bezels like the Galaxy S24+. The camera design has changed slightly with each sensor placed individually and an LED flashmaking them look identical to the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
- The Galaxy S25+ is tipped to have a rated capacity of 4,755mAh battery, which will most likely marketed as 4,900mAh.
- It’s also expected to come with 45W fast charging support along with an AI feature, which is said to extend the battery life by up to 10 percent.
- Based on this listing, there won’t be any change on the Galaxy S25+ in comparison to the Galaxy S24+.
There was a report suggesting that the Galaxy S25+ might be axed as only the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Ultra were spotted on the IMEI database. However, another report claimed that the Galaxy S25+ has been spotted in the GSMA database confirming that it will not be discontinued.
