Nothing Ear Open design renders leak just hours before launch | Tech Tips
Nothing will launch new products today and hours ahead of the announcement, one of the likely products, the supposedly called Nothing Ear Open or just Nothing Open has leaked. The leak reveals it is an open-ear earphone and shares its design and spec details. Let’s check them out and learn the benefits of this design.
Nothing Ear Open design: why it matters
German publication Winfuture has leaked the seemingly official images of the upcoming Nothing TWS. We can see the pair from different angles, both in and out of their case.
Yes, the Nothing earphones have an oblong case with a transparent top half.
The case is shaped so to accommodate the earphone’s wings/hooks. These hooks are to secure the earphones on your ears and should be ideal to wear when you’re out and about. They are less likely to fall even with movements or jerks.
The hooks are required more so than an in-ear earphone since here the head of the earphone doesn’t go inside the ear canal. Rather, it would stay out of it. So, it should allow better ambient awareness and also protect your ear from possible damage by loud in-ear earphones.
Last but not least, the buds also have Nothing’s signature transparent design elements.
Nothing Ear Open specifications
- Audio: Under the hood, it is said to sport a 14.2mm titanium-coated driver. The sound signature can lean towards lower frequencies because of the company’s “Bass Enhance” algorithm.
- No ANC: Since these are open-ear earphones, the design doesn’t allow active noise cancellation.
- Battery: Per WinFuture, the buds could run up to eight hours on a single charge, which can be extended up to 30 hours using the charging case. Alternately, you could get up to six hours on calls, expandable up to 24 hours using the case.
- Miscellaneous goodies: Nothing Ear Open could feature IP54 dust and water (splash) resistance, Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, multi-device-pairing (up to 2), and direct access to ChatGPT.
If you want ANC, you can consider an in-ear earphone like the Nothing Ear 2, Nothing Ear Stick, Nothing Ear (a) or from other brands. On the other hand, if you want to try out other open-ear earphones, you can check out Bose Ultra Open Earbuds, Noise Pure Pods, etc.
We shall learn the Nothing Ear Open’s price and availability this evening at 6:30 PM IST. We may also get a CMF by Nothing 140W GaN Charger which was spotted briefly on Flipkart a few days back.
