Alleged OxygenOS 15 features leaked: iOS-like control center, Live photos, Never Settle easter egg and more | Tech Tips

With Android 15 source code already out and the stable version on its way, OEMs are preparing for their versions based on the latest OS. One among them is OnePlus’ OxygenOS 15. Reports are coming that it is set to bring some major changes. OxygenOS 15 is apparently in the beta testing phase and Smartprix got the chance to check out the changes and improvements that will be on board.

OxygenOS 15 features (reported)

The report states at the outset that it couldn’t post screenshots of the OxygenOS 15 owing to legal implications, but here’s what the changes are like:

Control Center: OxygenOS 15 will be bringing a major revamp to the control center. The Smartprix report notes the look is somewhat similar to OxygenOS 14 but the layout has been tweaked. It looks similar to iOS and HyperOS. 

There are two toggles on the top like on the HyperOS and right below that, there are a 2×2 media player, 1×2 brightness slider, and 1×2 volume panel. The control center has 1×1 toggles for other quick settings. One can edit the layout as per their need liking and can even hide or unhide text under the controls.

Swiping down from the right brings up the control center while swiping the left notification shade If you still want the old control center, OxygenOS 15 allows you to switch back to OxygenOS 14 style.

Volume panel: Like on iOS, the volume slider starts out as a large slider but narrows down the width when you press it again.

Live Photos: The camera app will have the option to shoot live photos like iOS. As the name suggests, this will allow you to take short video clips when you take a photo and if something is moving.

Lock screen customisations: OxygenOS 15 brings the ability to customise the lock screen. You can change the clock’s size, position, colour and the font. There is a new depth effect that allows to creation of a 3D lock screen. The UI will offer various lock screen presents as well.

Dynamic Island-like notification: OxygenOS 15 will also be bringing a dynamic island-like feature. This now sits on top of the center punch-hole cutout much like Apple’s Dynamic Island.

The Easter egg: OxygenOS 15 will bring the Never Settle logo Easter egg. You can type 1+ into the calculator and tap equals, and you will see the ‘Never Settle’ pop-up again.

OxygenOS 15 availability

The OxygenOS 15 beta version is expected to drop either by the end of this month or early next month but should be available only to select models.
