iOS 18 features 

  • Homescreen customisation: It will let you rearrange apps and widgets, apply colour tints and dark tones to app icons, and lock apps using Face ID.
  • Revamped Control Centre: The Control Centre has been revamped with rounder icons and now allows you to create pages, resize and rearrange controls, and add new controls.

  • Updated Massages app: The Messages app now includes text style choices such as bold, italics, underline, and strikethrough, in addition to RCS. You can now also schedule messages.
  • Call recording: With Apple Intelligence, iPhones running iOS 18 will be able to record and transcribe audio calls. You can review the recordings at any time. However, call recording will only be supported on iPhone 15 Pro devices and higher.
  • Passwords app: The Passwords app stores passwords and credentials.
  • Game Mode: A new Game Mode for AirPods that reduces background activity and audio latency.
  • Advanced Safari and Maps: Safari gets a redesigned Reader for improved readability, as well as a feature called Distraction Control to remove unwanted stuff. Maps now contain topographic views, hiking paths, and offline navigation capabilities.
  • Apple Intelligence: iOS 18 comes with a bunch of AI features such as writing tools, priority notifications, Smart Reply, image generation, updated Siri, and many more. 

How to install iOS 18 

The process of installing iOS 18 on your eligible iPhone is pretty straightforward: 

  1. Launch the Settings app and select General.
  2. Tap Software Update and your iPhone will search for an update. 
  3. Select Download and let it download completely.
  4. Hit Install Now to install the update. 

Once downloaded and installed, your iPhone will restart and update to iOS 18.
