Apple Watch Ultra 3, Watch SE 3 to launch next year; No MacBook Pro with OLED display next year: analysts | Tech Tips

The iPhone 16 launch event saw more products including the AirPods 4 and Watch Series 10. There was no new Apple Watch Ultra instead it was introduced in a new Satin Black finish. This means that we’ll most likely see a new model next year and a new report supports this saying that the Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Watch SE 3 will launch in 2025. 

Two analysts have also shared details about the 2025 MacBook Pro models and the display on the laptops. Here’s what has been revealed so far. 

Apple Watch Ultra 3, Watch SE 3 to launch next year

• According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will launch the Watch Ultra 3 and Watch SE 3 next year. It was already predicted by Kuo and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman that Apple won’t be updating the Watch Ultra at the iPhone 16 launch event.
• The Apple Watch SE 2 was launched in 2022 so this ‘affordable’ lineup is in need of a much-needed upgrade. 
• This means that the next batch of new Apple Watches will be available in September 2025. It’s expected to be a busy one for Apple as there will be two more models in addition to the Watch Series 11.

2025 MacBook Pros to use mini-LED displays

Another update on next year’s Apple products is the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, which will continue to use mini-LED displays. Apple has been rumoured to switch to OLED displays for its MacBook lineup but this might happen only in 2026. The switch to OLED displays could also lead to thinner MacBooks in the future. 

For now, we can expect new MacBook Pros in October as Apple is expected to launch 14-inch and 16-inch models with the M4 series chips. The entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro is expected to be powered by the M4 chip, while the 14-inch and 16-inch models will get the M4 Pro and M4 Max chip, respectively.
