Xiaomi 15 teased to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, Xiaomi 14T alleged render reveals design | Tech Tips
Xiaomi is gearing up to have busy days ahead, with consecutive launches. There have been long-standing rumours about the Xiaomi 15 series, which will arrive as successors to the Xiaomi 14 lineup. Now, in a Weibo post, Xiaomi’s Lu Weibing suggested that the upcoming flagships from the brand will be the first to feature the top-end smartphone chipset, strongly hinting at the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset.
In related news, the Xiaomi 14T series is also believed to be in the works and is expected to launch this month, aligning with the Xiaomi 13T launch from last year. To that extent, the Xiaomi 14T render has surfaced online, revealing the complete design.
Xiaomi 15 series is launching soon
- The flagships will be the first to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, much like how the Xiaomi 13 lineup was the first to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in 2023.
- The phones will bring three ‘Super Features’ such as ultra-high clock speeds, super performance and ultra-low power consumption. Combined with system kernel optimisation from Xiaomi.
- The top executive mentioned that the ‘turning point of the chip industry has arrived’, indicating that the chipset in question is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and the flagship will be the Xiaomi 15 lineup.
Qualcomm is expected to announce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset at the Snapdragon Summit, which is scheduled for October 21st. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will reportedly implement an entirely new custom Oryon cores architecture, which will result in extremely superior performance, energy efficiency and more. However, all these improvements come at a cost. A new leak claims the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be 20 percent more expensive than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This should also impact the prices of the flagships.
