iPhone 16 series India launch event time, live stream

iPhone 16 series will make its global debut at an Apple Event today, which will be live-streamed at 10:30 PM IST (Indian Standard Time). You can watch the watch on Apple’s official website, the Apple TV app available on iPhone, Mac, iPad or TVs, and YouTube, the link to which we have embedded below.

iPhone 16 series India price (expected)

While there are no leaks or rumours regarding the Indian price of the new iPhones, we do have an estimate of how much these devices could cost in the country based on their predecessors. To recall, Apple slightly reduced the prices of its lineup in July as per the new policy by the government, which led to decreased taxes on imported mobile phones and parts.

We expect the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus to start at Rs. 80,000 and Rs. 90,000, respectively. It is assumed that the standard models will keep the same starting price even in the US, which does set a precedent for other markets.

However, the smaller, 6.3-inch iPhone 16 Pro could now start with a base 256GB storage just like its bigger sibling. Hence, the starting price in the Indian market could be increased to Rs. 1,40,000. On the other hand, the iPhone 16 Pro Max could start at Rs. 1,55,000. We might see better offers in the coming months as both of these models are expected to be assembled in India, which could lead to a slight reduction in prices.

iPhone 16 series features (expected)

iPhone 16 series will feature Apple’s new A18 series chipsets which will be AI-ready with an improved neural engine. Further, 8GB RAM will enable Apple Intelligence functionalities on all four devices. Based on the latest reports, the Pro variants will now be available in two new screen sizes, 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch.

The standard iPhone 16 series models are expected to feature an Action Button, while the iPhone 16 Pro models will come with a capacitive “Capture Button” for photography and videography functions. iPhone 16 Pro is also expected to get an upgraded 48MP ultrawide camera sensor. Apple will also fit the 5X telephoto in the smaller Pro variant for the first time.

Regarding finishes, the iPhone 16 is expected to be available in five colour options: Black, White, Pink, Blue and Green. Meanwhile, the Blue Titanium from the iPhone 15 Pro series will be replaced with a new Gold Titanium finish. We do not expect glaring design differences, but the new colours and slimmer bezels will surely sweeten the deal.
