Instagram now lets you posts comments to Stories, here’s everything you need to know | Tech Tips

Instagram Stories is the most widely used feature of the app. This is a way of allowing one to share their daily activities with pictures or videos. One can use stickers, emojis and more to make the Story updates appealing. Now, Instagram Stories is getting one more new feature: Comments. This will enable more engagement and interaction with followers on the platform. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

• Instagram Stories so far only offered emoji reactions as a means to respond to friends’ updates. There was no way to add a publicly visible comment.
• Changing that, Instagram is rolling out a ‘Comments in Stories’ feature to all users.
• Unlike replies to stories that go as DMs to the profile that has posted the Story, Comments are publicly visible to everyone.

• However, there’s a catch here. To make the comments section clean, Story Comments are only visible to people who follow you and only mutual followers (people whom you follow back) can comment on your stories. 
• Instagram believes that these two privacy limitations in the comments section should eliminate trolls or any offensive comments from unknown people.
• Just like Instagram Stories, comments will also disappear after 24 hours. However, if a Story is saved in the Highlights sections, the comments will also be saved and users can keep the conversation going.
• For an enhanced experience, Instagram is also giving an option to disable comments on a per-story basis. This will offer better control of the content that is shared.

Instagram recently introduced the ability to add music to a profile and this will be visible to everyone who visits the profile. To add music, one must head to their profile page and then select Edit Profile. Here, you will find the ‘Add music to your profile’ option and then tap on ‘Pick a song for your profile’. You can select the song you want and choose a 30-second bit from the same.
