Alleged Sony PS5 Pro sketch shows off the design ahead of launch | Tech Tips

Although Sony hasn’t openly mentioned anything about the new upcoming gaming console, it is known to be in the works already. This is expected to bring improved ray tracing, more powerful GPU performance and others. A new leak now reveals what could be the final design and also the name of the mid-gen PlayStation 5 refresh, courtesy of leaker Bilbil-Kun. Check out the complete details.

Is this our first look at the Sony PS5 Pro?

• Sony has apparently settled with the PlayStation 5 Pro moniker, according to the leaker through Dealabs report.
• This makes sense considering what the leaked hardware suggested so far and how Sony would also want to promote it as the most premium gaming console.
• The report also includes the sketch of the console, which is allegedly based on the design printed on the retail packaging.

• The sketch shows the design will look almost identical to the PS5 Slim, with the same overall shape. You see two USB Type-C ports and a power button on the front.
• The obvious difference between the Pro and the Slim is the three black stripes on the detachable covers compared to just one.
• The report adds that the Sony PS5 Pro will be slightly thicker than the Slim variant. For context: PS5 Slim measures 16.9×43.1×35.9cm.

Sony PS5 Pro: what we know so far

Sony PS5 Pro is expected to come with a powerful GPU and a faster CPU mode. It is reported that the CPU rendering on the new model will be around 45 percent faster than the standard PS5. It could bring a more powerful ray tracing architecture that could be three times faster compared to the regular PS5. 

The CPU on the PS5 Pro will be the same but is rumoured to have a new mode with a higher clock speed of 3.85GHz. The Sony PS5 Pro will also see improvements in read/write speeds by 28 percent to 576GB/s. For developers, Sony wants game developers to offer a single package that supports both PS5 and PS5 Pro. 

As for the launch, the Sony PlayStation 5 Pro might be announced next month and might be made available for purchase later this year.
