HMD Barbie Flip Phone launched with customised covers, beaded lanyard and no social media: price, specifications | Tech Tips

The HMD Barbie Flip Phone has been officially launched as a very pink phone with accessories reminiscent of the 2000s. HMD is promoting the handset as a ‘real phone with no social media’. The Barbie Flip Phone is fully pink with a themed keypad and UI as well. It also comes with different Barbie covers, a beaded lanyard with iconic Barbie charms, stickers, and crystals for customisation. 

HMD Barbie Flip Phone price, availability

• The HMD Barbie Flip Phone has been launched in the UK at 99 GBP (Rs 11,000 approx). It is priced at 129 Euros (Rs 12,000 approx) in the European market, and $129 (Rs 10,800 approx) in the US.
• The feature phone can be purchased in Europe now, and in the US it will go on sale from October 1st. 
• There’s no word on whether HMD plans to sell the Barbie Flip Phone in other markets including in India.

As the name suggests, the HMD Barbie Flip Phone is all about Barbie and pink. It’s a feature phone with a flip design and an external display that doubles as a mirror. The entire phone is in Power Pink colour with a Barbie-themed keypad. You also get Barbie wallpapers and icons, and custom ringtones such as ‘DreamHouse’ and ‘Azure Barbie’. The Barbie Flip Phone is straight out of the early 2000s with no social media apps and just the basics.

The Barbie Flip Phone has Easter eggs so when you type *#227243# you get Barbie wallpapers, *#ken# or *#536# for Ken greetings, and *#malibu# for Malibu beach sounds. HMD is also shipping two extra Barbie covers, a beaded lanyard, and attachable charms with the flip phone. All of these come with the phone in a pink jewelry box.
