Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra tipped to get a narrower but larger display | Tech Tips
Samsung Galaxy S25 series is not launching anytime soon but this fact isn’t stopping the rumour mill from bringing out fresh new leaks about the lineup. We already know the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be launching as the top-end variant in the series. Now, tipster Ice Universe has shared the dimensions of the flagship, showing what changes one can expect.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra might get narrower
- According to Ice Universe, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will be narrower compared to the S24 Ultra.
- He says the upcoming model will be 77.6mm wide, compared to 79mm of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The inner screen will be 73mm wide compared to the 72.3mm of the predecessor.
- The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will get a larger 6.86-inch display, which is a sizeable increase from the current 6.79-inch panel.
- This change in dimensions will also aid Samsung to cut down on the bezels around the screen.
- However, they might not be as thin as the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max, which are rumoured to have 1.15mm bezels. The current iPhone 15 Pro/15 Pro Max phones have 1.55mm bezels in comparison.
- Coming back to Samsung, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will have symmetrical bezels but the exact dimensions of those are not revealed/leaked at the moment.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: what do we know so far?
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra was recently listed on China’s 3C certification and this revealed there will be a 4885mAh battery but could be marketed as 5,000mAh. This is the same capacity as the predecessor. The phone is tipped to support 45W fast charging. If true, there will not be any major upgrades this time as well. Samsung has been sticking to the same charging speeds for quite some time now.
The design mock-up of the Galaxy S25 Ultra showed the design will be largely identical to the S24 Ultra except that the borders will now be more rounded. The flagship could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset like most flagships that will be coming our way later this year.
Lastly, for the camera upgrades, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra could get a 200MP main sensor but the ultra-wide-angle lens will see a new 50MP JN1 sensor compared to the 12MP lens on the predecessor. The 3x telephoto lens will also see an upgrade to a 50MP 5x sensor. Samsung is reportedly working on image algorithms to enhance the image and video quality.
