iPhone 16 series complete specifications, US pricing leak ahead of launch | Tech Tips
The iPhone 16 series will be debuting in September. There will be four models in the lineup like last time and there have been multiple leaks and rumours surrounding the phones in recent times. Topping all that, a new leak now brings the iPhone 16 US pricing and the hardware specifications.
iPhone 16 series leak reveals hardware details
According to leaker Apple Hub on X, the iPhone 16 series will have the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus: The leak shows the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will retain a 60Hz refresh rate same as the iPhone 15 series. This might come as a disappointment considering the competition is offering 120Hz. Both phones will continue to use aluminium bodies and not titanium, which will be limited to just Pro variants.
Interestingly, the leak claims the base models will get ‘Apple Intelligence’ support, which was unveiled with iOS 18 and is currently limited to just iPhone 15 Pro versions. The phones will get 128GB/256GB/512GB storage options and be powered by the new A18 chipset, which should bring performance improvements over the current A16 Bionic SoC.
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will sport 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screens, similar to the iPhone 15/15 Plus. There will be Wi-Fi 6E support for connectivity. In terms of battery, Apple Hub claims the phones will have 3561mAh and 4006mAh cells. The leak says iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will get a 12MP ultra-wide angle camera with 2x optical zoom.
iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max: Moving to the Pro models. Both variants are seeing a size increase this time around if the leak is to be believed. The vanilla Pro model gets a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max will sport a 6.9-inch screen. In comparison, the outgoing models sport 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screen sizes. The refresh rate will be 120Hz for a smoother UI experience.
The iPhone 16 Pro models will be powered by the A18 Pro chipset and this will be a boost over the A17 Pro SoC. The storage options will remain unchanged: 256GB/512GB/1TB. The phones will feature a titanium body, Wi-Fi 7, and Apple Intelligence support. The iPhone 16 Pro series will get a new 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens and this will replace the 12MP unit on the current models. The phones will also support 5x optical zoom.
The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature 3355mAh and 4676mAh cells. Beyond the leak, the iPhone 16 Pro models will get a new ‘Capture Button’.
iPhone 16 series price (expected)
As for the pricing, the iPhone 16 will cost $799 (approx Rs 67,100), while the iPhone 16 Plus will have a starting price of $899 (around Rs 75,500). There is no price hike on the vanilla and Plus variant this time around. They cost the same as the iPhone 15/15 Plus.
On the other hand, the iPhone 16 Pro will have a starting price of $1,099 (around Rs 92,300), while the Pro Max could start at $1,199 (approx Rs 1,00,700). The Pro versions are seeing a price hike of $100 over the previous generation models, going by the leak.
