Honor 200, 200 Pro receive first OTA update in India: here’s what’s new | Tech Tips
Honor 200 series in India is getting the first OTA update after their debut in the country last month. The update is labelled as software version N39I 8.0.0.135 and this brings along the much-awaited call recording feature, which wasn’t available at launch. The update also brings some enhancements to the system. The Honor 200 lineup, comprising Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro are premium offerings from the brand and largely focus on superior camera performance, through AI.
Honor 200 series gets a new update
- The Honor 200 update brings enhancements to boost the performance and offer a smoother user interface. This also improves the stability of the phones.
- The company says that the update also brings the August security patch to the phones.
- Leaker Sanju Choudhary shared the Honor 200 Pro OTA update changelog screenshot and this reveals some more new improvements as well.
- The update to Honor 200 Pro adds Depth Effect adjustment functions, which can be used on photos clicked in portrait mode or in aperture mode. Once can do so by heading to the desired photo > f icon at the top of the screen > Adjust Bokeh.
- This also brings a new Ultra Group Photo feature in portrait mode. This automatically corrects closed eyes and beautifies portrait clicks.
- The update also improves the system’s compatibility with some third-party apps.
- We weren’t able to verify if these camera-related features/improvements will apply to the vanilla Honor 200 at the moment.
Honor 200 series users can check for the update by heading to Settings > System & Updates > Software update and tapping on ‘check for updates’. Since the update just started rolling out, it might be a while before it reaches everyone.
