Realme to launch ‘world’s fastest charging technology’ on August 14th | Tech Tips

Realme has announced that it will launch the ‘world’s fastest charging technology’ on August 14th. The new feat will be unveiled at the brand’s annual 828 Fan Festival in Shenzhen, China. Realme hasn’t revealed the details yet but it’s expected to be 300W fast charging technology. This would make Realme the first smartphone brand to introduce this fast-charging technology.

Realme’s 300W fast charging technology launch

  • Realme has sent out invites for its new fast-charging technology to be unveiled on August 14th.
  • The Chinese smartphone brand claims that this will be the world’s fastest charging technology. It however didn’t reveal details behind the technology.
  • It is speculated though that Realme will be debuting its 300W fast charging technology at the event.

Realme’s Global Head of Marketing, Francis Wong, had revealed that the brand has been testing 300W rapid charging technology, GizmoChina reported. Details are still under wraps but Realme’s proprietary technology can reportedly charge a phone from 0 to 50 percent in less than three minutes. The phone can reach 100 percent in around five minutes.

It’s worth mentioning that Redmi had unveiled its 300W fast-charging solution last year. We’re yet to see this on a smartphone yet. Realme has also demonstrated its 240W fast charging technology so the latest one will be an upgrade over this.

We’ll know more details at the event where Realme will demonstrate its fast-charging technology and the battery capacity used. However, it’s unlikely that this technology will be introduced for real-life cases as it’s more of a technological achievement for the brand.

At present, the fastest charging speed offered generically by brands is 120W, which is the standard for most phones. Realme did release the GT Neo 5 with 240W charging last year, but didn’t provide the tech in subsequent GT series models. There have been some exceptions like the OnePlus 10T with 150W fast charging and the iQOO 10 Pro with 200W fast charging. The 300W fast-charging technology offers a glimpse into what the future will look like for Android smartphones.
